Role Description As a Software Engineer at PipeBoost.AI, you will design, develop, and maintain services and APIs that power our AI automation platform. You will work closely with product and sales stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable, secure, and reliable software solutions. Daily responsibilities include coding, code reviews, debugging, optimizing performance, and contributing to system architecture decisions. You will also help integrate third-party services, improve data workflows, and ensure high-quality releases through testing and documentation. This is a full-time, on-site role based in our Surabaya office — not a freelance or remote position; the engineer is expected to work in-office daily alongside the team.

Tech Stack You will work across a backend built with Node.js/Express, using browser automation (Puppeteer) and MQTT-based messaging, with AI-generated content via OpenAI's API; and a React Native frontend targeting Android, Ios, and Web from a single codebase. All code bases build using JavaScript, thus a belief and proficienct of JavaScript is a must. Familiarity with MQTT pub/sub, client-side config storage, and cross-platform build tooling (Metro, CRACO/webpack, Gradle) is a plus.

Why We're Hiring We have a live product backlog (hundred tracked tasks, currently ~55 not started) spanning reliability fixes, new automation channels, and architecture work that the current team hasn't had bandwidth to clear. We're using OpenProject to maintain the full backlog — this doc summarizes the shape of the work, not the exhaustive list.

Qualifications:

Mindset & Culture Fit:

  A strong belief in JavaScript as a programming language, and in TypeScript as its future — someone who codes in JS today but is pushing toward TS tomorrow.

  Love for bughunting and feature building — we run our backlog in OpenProject like a Guild Quest board, where every task is a quest to be picked up, tackled, and turned in.

  Comfortable using AI to move faster on a task, but always applying your own programming expertise to review, validate, and take ownership of the result — AI assists, it doesn't replace judgment.

  Diligently test your own software before handing it off to SQA — self-QA is part of the job, not an afterthought.

Technical Foundation:

  A programming competency in JavaScript, with a strong foundation in Computer Science — data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.

  Hands-on experience in software development using modern languages and frameworks, with proficiency in back-end web development: building and maintaining APIs and working with databases.

  Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and clean, maintainable code practices.

  Familiarity with cloud platforms, version control (e.g., Git), and CI/CD workflows.

  Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical partners.

  Experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to Have:

  Experience with AI, data processing, or sales-focused SaaS products.

  Hands-on experience with Node.js/Express and browser automation tools (e.g., Puppeteer or Playwright).

  Familiarity with MQTT or other pub/sub messaging protocols.

  Experience working with React Native or other cross-platform frameworks (targeting multiple platforms such as mobile, web, and desktop from one codebase).

  Experience integrating third-party AI APIs (e.g., OpenAI) into production applications.
